Ser vs Estar
Ser is used to talk about permanent or lasting attributes, such as physical appearance, personality traits, nationality, professions, time, and relationships. For example, "Soy alta" (I am tall), "Eres inteligente" (You are intelligent), "Somos mexicanos" (We are Mexican), and "Es la una" (It is one o'clock).
Estar is used to talk about temporary conditions, locations, feelings, emotions, and actions. For example, "Estoy cansado" (I am tired), "Estás en la tienda" (You are in the store), "Estamos felices" (We are happy), and "Están corriendo" (They are running).
It is important to remember that ser and estar are irregular verbs in Spanish and their conjugations must be memorized. Using the correct verb is crucial for accurately communicating in Spanish.
